Support
Last updated: 4 October 2026
This page is written for version 1.4. If your phone still has 1.3 or earlier, we note where things differ; you can update from the App Store.
Getting started
Do I need an account?
No. Choosing a photo, starting a journey, adding memories and watching the mosaic need no account; it all runs on your phone. An account is needed for two things only: inviting your partner and backing up the journey. It uses Sign in with Apple, so there is no separate password.
What is in the “Us” tab?
In version 1.4 everything that belongs to the two of you is in the Us tab: your couple card (names, time together, partner status), backup, Premium, reminders and, at the bottom, Settings — appearance and language, privacy, support and legal texts, resetting the journey, and your account.
How many photos can I add?
Up to ten photos per memory; we recommend three or more. The reason: the mosaic engine weaves that memory's region only from that memory's pictures, and the more photos there are, the better they fit the light and dark parts of the region. One photo works too, but the region looks flat.
Can I change my target photo later?
The mosaic is built from the photo you chose at the start of the journey. If you want to begin with a different photo you can reset the journey and start again (see resetting the journey below); resetting also deletes the memories and photos from the device. So take a good look at the preview during setup: a photo with strong contrast gives a much clearer picture after forty memories.
Partner
How do I invite my partner?
In the Us tab, tap Invite your partner. If you have no account yet you will be asked to sign in with Apple; then an invite link and a six-character code appear. Send the link in a message. Inviting is free and the invite is valid for 72 hours; if it expires, create a new one from the same place. While the invite is waiting, the code and a “share again” button stay in the Us tab.
In version 1.3 and earlier, inviting is done from the Partner tab and requires Premium. Once you update to 1.4 it is free.
What happens when my partner taps the invite link?
If Tessera is installed on your partner's phone, the link opens the app and starts joining; if not, the page that opens shows the code and a link to the App Store. If the link does not open, your partner can tap I have an invite code when they first open the app and type the code. After signing in with Apple your mosaic arrives on their phone; they do not need to pick a photo. From then on you both add photos to the same mosaic.
My partner had already started a journey on their own phone.
The joining phone takes on your mosaic; each phone holds one journey. If your partner's phone has moments they have already lived, joining stops so that nothing is lost, and nothing on that phone changes. Decide together which mosaic to continue; the owner of that mosaic sends the invite.
Can I see the photos my partner adds?
Yes — that is what a shared journey is. You both see every photo, title and note in it. If you split up you can delete your account; the journey stays with your partner, details in the privacy policy.
Subscription
What is free and what is not?
The app is free to download. In a journey started with version 1.4 or later, the starter moment and any three moments of the forty that you choose are free; a moment counts as started when its first photo is added. A journey you started earlier, and that is still on the same phone after the update, keeps its first twenty moments, in order, free. Inviting your partner and share cards are free.
All forty moments and saving the mosaic at print resolution need Premium: monthly, yearly or lifetime. Current prices are always on the purchase screen in the app, in your country's currency.
Do we each need to buy Premium?
No. Premium opens on the phone of the person who bought it; in a shared journey that person starts the new moments. Every started moment is open on both phones and both of you can add photos. Print-resolution export is also done from the phone that has Premium.
How do I cancel my subscription?
On your iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → Tessera → Cancel Subscription. You can also get there from the app: Us → Premium → Manage subscription (in version 1.3 and earlier, Settings → Manage subscription). After you cancel, Premium stays on until the end of the period.
If my subscription ends, is my mosaic deleted?
No. The mosaic you have made stays yours and stays viewable. You can keep adding photos to moments you have started. Premium opens starting new moments; it never takes back what you have made.
I moved to a new phone and my purchase is gone.
Tap Us → Premium → Restore purchases (in version 1.3 and earlier, Settings → Restore purchases). If you are signed in with the same Apple Account, Premium comes back. For your journey to move too, you need to have created an account on the old phone — backup only happens once there is an account.
I want a refund.
Purchases go through Apple, so Apple handles refunds: reportaproblem.apple.com.
Journey
Can I reset the journey and start again?
Yes: Us → Settings → Journey → Reset the journey. The journey, all of its memories and photos are deleted from the device; this cannot be undone. The three free moments are counted per phone, so resetting does not give you three new free moments: moments you started in earlier journeys count towards them. A new journey started after a reset does not carry over the twenty-moment allowance either.
Your data
What data do you collect?
Your photos, titles, notes and names do not leave your phone unless you create an account. From version 1.4 the app sends anonymous usage counts — which moment was completed, how many photos were added, whether the app crashed. No photo, title, note, name or invite code ever goes into them, and they are not tied to your account. The full list is in the privacy policy.
How do I switch usage measurement off?
Turn off Us → Settings → Privacy → Anonymous usage data. From that moment nothing is sent, crash summaries included. Versions 1.3 and earlier have no measurement, so there is nothing to switch off.
How do I delete my account and my data?
In the app: Us → Settings → Account → Delete account (in version 1.3 and earlier, Settings → Delete account). Once you confirm, your account is deleted from the server straight away, and the files of the photos you uploaded are removed from storage shortly after, one by one. If you share a journey, it stays with your partner and the photos you added stay where they are so their mosaic is not broken; once you have both deleted your accounts, they all go.
Deleting your account does not touch the copy on your phone. To remove that too, reset the journey or delete the app. If you cannot delete from the app, write to hi@tahayerdekalmazer.com with the subject “Account Deletion Request”.
Where are my photos kept?
If you have no account, only on your phone. If you do, also on servers in Frankfurt, reachable only by you and your partner. Details in the privacy policy.
Something is not working
The mosaic looks blurry or blocky.
The mosaic sharpens as your memories fill in: regions of memories not yet added stay as a faded version of the target photo. As the blocks sharpen, the journey is moving forward. Zoom in to see which picture belongs to which day.
The app does not open, or it closes.
Try these in order: close the app completely and reopen it, restart the phone, check the App Store for an update. If it continues, write to us — adding your phone model and iOS version helps us find it much faster.
I get a permission error when I try to add photos.
Allow access under iPhone Settings → Tessera → Photos. Tessera does not read your whole photo library; only the pictures you pick are copied into the app.
